Artist Resumé
Statement
Beading is my vehicle. Moving across felt using needle & thread, I stitch tiny glass beads to a canvas, slowly bringing each subject to life. A beaded taxi cab speeds down the Avenue of Americas beneath the light of a marquee. A beaded fire truck and Dalmatian come to the rescue. A beaded Time Machine journeys into the future. A beaded trolley brings me home.. Beadwork stitched to a painted canvas suddenly transforms a familiar place into a new world, stirring youthful imagination and wonder. Beads can turn a common object into a complex work of art offering unique destinations only the viewer can explore.
