Dear friends, I am thrilled to be Cambridge Art Association‘s Artist of the Week! Read this interview to learn more about me! Also, you are cordially invited to attend Between Abstraction and Reality, a small group show hosted by the Cambridge Art Association! I will be exhibiting 14 of my beaded paintings and artwork at this show – for 3 weeks only!
February 18 – March 10, 2016.
Presented at University Place Gallery…124 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge MA 02138.
Opening reception: Thursday, February 25, 6-8pm.
Closing reception: Thursday, March 10, 6-8pm.
“The exhibit will have a refreshing range o diversity in techniques, as well as a strong common denominator: playful, colorful imagery that falls in a mid-point between abstraction and reality, often touching on fantasy while retaining a grounding in reality. All of the artists use – and alter- life imagery as a springboard to express their views.”
Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm • Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm
Take the T to Harvard Square..
Free and Open to the Public. Hope to see you there!
Dear friends, I would like to show you my latest design – beaded Afghan Hound sterling silver drop earrings! These match the beaded Afghan Hound pin pendant which is listed in my Etsy and Amazon Handmade shops.. This pair sold almost immediately, so they are now listed as made-to-order with several different color options. Do you like them?
Also, I am thrilled to announce that I have finally reached 700 sales in my Etsy shop! (This may have something to do with the fact that my shop has been mentioned on French website madmoiZelle.com.) I plan to celebrate all next week by going on vacation. Both of my shops will remain open for business, but please keep in mind that beadwork orders will not be filled until the week of February 15, 2016. If you have any questions or custom order inquiries, please use the Contact form anytime, and I will get back to you as soon as possible:)
Please visit my Instagram and/or Facebook pages for international beady posts while I’m away. Also, mark you calendar for my upcoming show in Harvard Square. More details on that when I return. Thank you for your interest in my bead embroidery!

Dear friends, I have made some progress on my latest commission – a beaded house portrait.
First, I stitched in some beaded greenery around the yard light. Then, I began to bead the tree..
In real life, this tree is very large, but my portrait is sort of limited by the size of the canvas, so this only represents a portion of the tree. Using size 15 seed beads in at least 6 shades of green, I stitched very small loops for leaves. There are many leaves, so this took quite a while to do!
Next, I stitched the house to the larger 5″x 7″ piece of stiff stuff that is shown behind it.. (Yes, the house was a separate piece of beadwork, as is the tree!) Then, I continued stitching the grass to the edge of the stiff stuff.
I also stitched size 11 black, gray, and brown seed beads for the street, and tiny size 15 Delica beads for the driveway. I thought I might run out of the color I was using, but turns out I had just enough!
Next, I will stitch in a bit more grass.. Please check my Facebook and/or Instagram pages for more updates. Thank you for your interest in my beadwork!

Last night, I went to the Cambridge Art Association’s 14th National Prize Show reception. Works in all mediums were selected by Caitlin Doherty, Curator & Deputy Director of Curatorial Affairs at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, Michigan State University.
Only 79 pieces out of 1200 entries were selected for this show. I am absolutely thrilled that my beaded painting, Radio City, is one of them! This piece consists of bead embroidery on canvas. You can view Radio City May 15- June 25, 2015 at University Place Gallery in Harvard Square.
University Place Gallery:
124 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge MA, 02138 Hours: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm • Saturday 9:00am to 1:00pm.
The other half of the exhibition is installed at the Kathryn Schultz Gallery located at 25 Lowell St., Cambridge, MA. There you can also check out the Small Wall Project.
Every 4-6 weeks, original small works will be shown here. Of course, these pieces are available for sale. Many artists will donate 50% of the sale to the Cambridge Art Association so they can continue to expand their gallery space.
My beaded Afghan Hound portrait will be shown here for the next few weeks. Go check it out if you happen to be in the area! If you are interested in a custom beaded dog portrait of a different breed, please visit my Etsy shop or contact me through Facebook. Thank you for your interest in my beadwork!
