My latest custom beaded pet portrait is complete! This piece was inspired by a dear cat named Tux.
She was created by stitching tiny glass 15/o seed beads to layered felt. I used several different shades of black, gray, and white to create her. After she was completed, I stitched her to a bright turquoise blue Ultrasuede background. And finally, I stitched tiny glass leaves and Czech glass flowers all around her as if she were laying in a spring garden. This beadwork was mounted in an 8″ x 8″ shadowbox frame.
Tux was a special companion to a man who recently passed away as a result of Lou Gehrig’s disease, or ALS. May they both be remembered forever. ❤

Dear friends, a new bead- embroidered pet portrait is now available for sale on Etsy – a pink Pomeranian! Or perhaps it looks like an American Eskimo dog to you?
A customer suggested this color to me awhile back and I liked the idea because I’m sure there is someone out there who has dyed their Pomeranian’s hair pink.. Whether you like that idea or not, I think it looks great in beads! I used tiny Japanese glass seed beads and layered beaded fringe to create this dog’s texture. I like it so much that I have added this color option for anyone who would like a pink Pomeranian pin pendant or earrings! It would definitely be a conversation piece! Please check my Etsy and Amazon shops for more details. Thanks for looking!
Dear friends, lately I have been obsessed with the Borzoi aka. Russian Wolfhound, so I decided to make a framed portrait of one..
I started by cutting out several layers of felt and stitched them together. Then, I chose my seed beads – 15/o matte brown seed beads and tiny 13/o gold charlottes and started beading!
After I finished beading the entire piece of felt, I layered even more seed beads and beaded fringe to create the dogs flowing hair. And lastly, I stitched the beadwork to a dark blue piece of Ultrasuede.
How does this dog breed look in a shadowbox frame?
