Dear friends, I have created a new doggie – a beaded Rainbow Poodle pin pendant! Here is a peek at how it was created:
I have layered several felt shapes and stitched them together. Then, I stitched on a tiny glass nose. For the dog’s hair, I beaded short 2-bead stacks on its head and tail.
The dog’s body is made up of short 3-bead lazy-stitches which are very close together. This gives the piece the desired texture. I had wanted to make a rainbow poodle for awhile. I hope it makes you smile:) Please click the pic to view this item on Etsy..

My Etsy shop has been very busy lately! Last week, I received an order for two beaded Black & Tan Dachshund pins. Here is a photo of my design:
I used Japanese size 15 Charlottes, so this piece really sparkles! It’s difficult to photograph, but the dog’s ear is floppy and really moves when you touch it. I also strung seed beads onto a thin sterling silver wire for the tail! This design is now available for sale in my Etsy shop🙂
Also, this week, I finished a new custom order – a beaded Australian Cattle Dog pin pendant! My customer emailed me a photo which I used to create a template. I then cut out a felt foundation which I used to stitch seed beads to.. I used Japanese size 15 seed beads for the entire piece except the eyes. For those, I used size 11 seed beads and tiny 1mm glass doll eyes. To finish the piece, I added a thin sterling silver chain for the collar. Do you like it?
This Australian Cattle Dog design will not be available for sale in my shop, however, I would be more than happy to create a custom beaded pin, pendant, or framed portrait of your pet based on one of your favorite photos! These items make great holiday gifts; they are cherished keepsakes which will be treasured for many years to come. Please visit my Etsy shop for more details regarding custom orders. Thank you for your interest!
I have been busy the past few weeks. I am preparing for a week long Newbury Handmade Market next month, so I started restocking some of my most popular Etsy items, such as beaded Pugs and Poodles.. Then, inspiration hit and I made my first beaded Poodle cuff bracelet!😀
This 2″ bracelet was made by stitching tiny glass seed beads and vintage German glass flowers and leaves to felt. Beadwork was mounted onto a blank metal cuff and lined with Ultrasuede. If you would like to view the progress of my bead embroidery, please see this album on Facebook.
I decided to call this piece ‘Poodle in Public Garden‘ because it reminds me of all the adorable dogs I always see walking in the Boston Public Garden. It is currently available for sale in my Etsy shop.
This piece can also be customized to include the beaded dog breed of your choice. If you would like to order your own custom ‘Public Garden’ beaded bracelet, please see my Etsy shop for more details.. or use the Contact form above:) Thanks for looking!😀
Check out my latest custom order – a beaded rooster brooch!🙂
This one is called a Moa (Hawaiian for chicken) and he lives on the island of Kauai. I created him by stitching tiny Japanese seize 15 seed beads to a felt foundation. I used more than 10 different colors, including blue 1 x 4mm micro bugle beads. I also layered beaded fringe for his feathers to create realism. This piece is a pin which can also be worn as a pendant.
6.5cm x 5cm
Something tells me this won’t be the last beaded chicken pin I create..
What do you think?😀
