Here’s the current progress of my beaded relief painting. I am still beading the trees which surround my beaded White House, but I have also painted the entire canvas using acrylics. This is the stage at which I get very nervous because I don’t consider myself a painter. I just work on it a little each day as I try to depict what my mind’s eye wants to see. I am hoping that while my beaded trees continue to grow, my painted environment does too…😮

  1. >Hi LB, thanks for your comment on my blog (Churches in Venice). I replied to you there but thought I'd put it here too: How exciting to be going to Venice for the first time! You'll have a blast shopping for beads. A friend of mine bought tons of them there for her daughter who makes jewelry. There's a book called "Venice Botteghe" by Michela Scibilia; it's a shopping guide and has a whole chapter on bead stores (both new and antique beads). A friend borrowed the book from me so I can't look up any stores for you, but when you get to Venice, you should be able to find the book in most any book store (and there's an English version too). I bought my copy at the Tourist Pavillion close to Piazza San Marco.

  2. >Sorry…I had hoped to get by sooner than this, but life just got in the way.Your painted canvas looks fantastic! Love the colors you've got going on so far! Don't get nervous…it is going to be a beautiful background!
