>Slight Delay

Beaded Boston Trolley train Pcc Pullman car bead embroidery beading needle broken(click to enlarge)

Well folks, my Green Line trolley is running a bit behind schedule at the moment. There has been a slight delay because my size 15 beading needle broke while I was trying to stitch those green circuit boards to the felt. I’m not upset, though. I have used that needle for the last 3 pieces I created. It had a nice bend to it, so I wasn’t surprised when it snapped in half. And, that should teach me not to attempt doing beadwork after midnight. I’m going to go to sleep now, and when I get up, I’m going to grab a new needle and continue where I left off. 😀

  1. >That’s a good reason for a delay. I would understand the German Railways better if they said their trains are late due to broken beading needles … 🙂

  2. >I hope you were wearing your high-impact safety glasses! That needle could snap in half and fly up and take an eye out! I never thought of beading as a dangerous hobby, but I see that it is now! I’m even more impressed with your work knowing you are risking severe bodily injury! 😉

  3. >LOL. I usually don’t use a thimble. And, I don’t know how long this one will take. I think the beadwork will work up pretty quickly, but I don’t know about the rest…

  4. >It’s nice to know there is someone else who doesn’t throw away bent needles. I just bought a curved one for my current doll project. It makes it so much easier.Arline

  5. >What? Are you INSANE? Beading after midnight??!!??!!Don’t you know 1/100,000,000 people die of that every year? You DO have a thimble, don’t you??!!
