Our journey on my blue beaded bus starts in Memphis, Tennessee at Sun Studio. In 1955, this was where Elvis Presley recorded his first #1 single, Mystery Train. Elvis was one of Jim Morrison‘s favourite singers, and years later, The Doors actually covered this song… So, for this leg of the journey, Elvis will be the driver of my British bus. Like Jim Morrison, his death left many unanswered questions, yet, his spirit continues to live on…
Where will Elvis take us next??
Where will Elvis take us next??
>I don’t know, but it looks like a fun ride.
>…on the magical mystery tour?…hee heexxpinks
>Thanks for the comments so far:) Corky, was it a Doors song?? ;)Angela, the year was 1955. Elvis was only 20 years old when he recorded this track… And, Lora, I WISH I had gotten to see Elvis perform… I DO remember watching a lot of his movies at my Grandma’s house when I was a kid, though. She LOVED him, and I can see why=;)
>That is so weird that you picked Elvis. I’ve had this whole Elvis strangeness going on around me lately. I even said something about it in my post yesterday. I saw Elvis in concert when I was about 9 or 10. I’ve been to a few concerts in my day but nobody is like him. When he started singing it was like he cast a spell. My proof is that my mother screamed like a school girl when he sang her favorite song. Be safe…
>This is gonna be a fun ride!
>Great job! Elvis sounds younger in this one. Do you know what year it was?
>My husband is singing all day long Doors songs!
>I thought about you as I was walking through the pouring rain back to my car from work. Can you guess what song was going through my head?
