>Detroit’s Finest

Well, it’s 3am and I just got home from work. I worked a Bob Seger concert last night at the Garden. Bob Seger is originally from Detroit, Michigan, and he’s been around a long time. I’m sure you remember his song “Like a Rock”. That song and slogan were used in Chevy truck commercials for over 10 years. In fact, it’s probably one of the longest-running television commercials in history.

Anyways, we set up his show yesterday morning, and around 3:30pm, Bob showed up to do sound check. The Silver Bullet Band rehearsed “The Fire Down Below”, and they played it about 18 times… Now, it’s forever burned in my memory bank. LOL. So, in honor of Bob’s hometown, I would like to share some of my favourite Detroit Fire Department photos with you. Enjoy=:)

And, surprisingly, I happened to have a few hours off yesterday, so I came home a did a little beadwork. I finished the first layer of the grill on my beaded 1943 Chevy fire truck. I may add to this in the future, but for now, I’ll just leave it the way it is…

Time for sleep…Zzz…

  2. >beadexplorer – sorry for any faux pas, I was in Europe, there was a fire truck…so I called it a European fire truck…I will have to remember where I was, when I took the picture, so I can relate it to the country I was in.

  3. >hi–I have been traveling,so not much time to look at blogs–so it was fun to see you finshed your sister on the couch and now have started this! I love old trucks…will the truck have any firemen/women drivers?

  4. >I love the old fire trucks. When I was in Europe, I got to see a European fire truck (I took a picture). I will have to figure out a way to post the picture of it.
